I’m an electronic engineer and graduate student at UNAM specializing in machine learning, digital signal processing, integrated circuit design and embedded systems. My work sits at the intersection of embedded intelligence and robotics; from edge AI on humanoid robots, to computer vision models for industrial-grade robot motion planning & control.
🧠 Core Research Focus and Specialization
My work leverages modern machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, and data processing methods to create the algorithms that power the robots that are building the future.

Machine Learning: Designing and optimizing neural networks as well as applying different reinforcement learning techniques for tasks like object detection, image classification, and grasp planning. With a focus on making models trainable and deployable under real hardware constraints.

Robot Movement planning: Developing deep learning approaches for domestic service robot motion planning. Bridging learned motion policies with the physical realities of humanoid robot hardware.

Computer Vision: Implementing classical algorithms and deep convolutional neural networks for image denoising, filtering, and segmentation for environmental modeling.

Embedded Systems: Programming reconfigurable microprocessors and hardware-optimized AI systems in VHDL and CUDA, with a strong emphasis on optimizing memory management and data flow.

Leading the electrical branch of a multidisciplinary 16-people team building humanoid robots at the Advanced Robotics Research Laboratory (LIRA).
